PHOTOS: VOLUNTEERS Actual setup begins just after dawn on race day, with the arrival
of a tractor trailer loaded with hay bails. The hay is wrapped in marine
shrinkwrap to form the track walls. Over 100 volunteers work throughout the
day to make the race a success.
THE RACE Formula One kart endurance racing pits teams of drivers from local businesses and organizations against each other on an outdoor track.
The race is a four-hour event followed by an elite final showdown featuring the top eight teams competing in a 30&-minute race to determine the top three finishers.
OPENING CEREMONIES This family-friendly event is free to spectators and features live local radio broadcasts, performances by popular local bands, lots of children’s activities, food and drinks, and the shops of Mashpee Commons.
